College football whiffs on early season scheduling. You have two weekends before the NFL kicks off and most of the games are stinkers.

Maybe once they expand the playoff that will change because it's a missed opportunity to grab football-starved eyeballs.
Why ruin your chances at CFP slot by playing anybody with a pulse in September? Unlike the pros, the big boys in college ranks can chose when to play other big boys and when to eat marshmallows.

NIL and these new conference alignments are going to make it harder to avoid early games with meaning. But I think that translates into teams like Wisconsin, Auburn, A&M, Michigan State, Tennessee, Washington, UCLA, having to schedule teams like Clemson, FSU, Miami, Utah, Arizona, Okie State, early to have any possibility of getting into the playoffs. My guess is that Alabama and Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio State will fill the time with MAC & cheese teams.

In a sense, I think it's going to become like the English football system of relegation and promotion.

I hope we cancel all our non conference games. We can’t afford to play Texas and Georgia now with adding the teams we have.

One of these years someone in the big ten is going to have to run a schedule with all the big hitters (I bet Nebraska will get the shaft).

Imagine scheduling UGA then only to have to play USC, Washington, Oregon, UCLA, Penn State, Michigan, Iowa, and Wisconsin (with half on the road). Heaven forbid if it’s a good year for Nebraska, Minnesota, Purdue, or Sparty as well.

I’m torn. Nebraska losing is eternally hilarious but if Colorado starts hot that means more Deion Sanders in the media and I’m not sure I want more Deion Sanders coverage.

Good game in each slot though. Miami Ce AM then Bama vs Texas although I have a feeling Alabama mops the floor.
There will never be less Deion coverage. I think people trying to wish this into existence forget the 1990s.

What’s really going to send the hype train into overdrive is when Texas A&M or Florida throw 150 million at him. If you’re Jimbo Fisher or Billy Napier you can’t ask for patience while Deion is out there turning over 80 scholarships and proving it can indeed be done in one offseason.

I caught the tail ene being born in 89, but that’s a solid point. It’s going to be funny to see both of those programs sprint to failure to justify the opening. Florida might be the first power 5 program to look like it’s tanking.

But you’re right. It’s a matter of time before someone emails him a record setting contract.

Tumbleweeds in here Duke only down 2 at the half and trying to hand it back with a muffed punt and fumble in clemson territory with 10 seconds in the half instead of potentially kicking a field goal.

Clemson has dropped a whopping 7 points at the half.
