  • The Week One Games Discussion Thread done disappeared.
  • The original thread went AWOL, search machine couldn't find it, I went eight pages deep on College Football Forum trying to find it when I finally said, "fuck it," and started this thread.

"If Wiscy just manages to hand the ball off to the running back without fumbling, and not false start on first and goal inside the two, they’re good for another 17 points on offense." quote BB73
Wsky left a potential 21 points on the field, first and goal, well inside the 10. They held the pedsters to something like 43 yards in the first half, moved the ball up and down the field, and yet they went into the locker room tied at 0. You don't win many games that way.

As the DFBIA swears they're back, check out the highlights. They manage to score on a desperation heave my McCarthy about 30 yards downfield but all the way across the field. Lucky for them, the WMU d back doesn't spot the ball in time to make the interception. Throughout the game, their left tackle gets beat like a drum by the Bronco's DE - who must be a clone of Chase Young and the Bosa's. Imagine what the Buckeye DEs will do to him.

After covering my loss on the parlay and netting a grand total of $17 on $100 wagered, I've made my stone cold locks for week 2.

Arkansas over Texas money line (+200)

Two game point spread parlay of UW over tsun and Ohio State over Oregon. (+272)

Two play of Ohio State (-14.5) over Oregon and the Over (+225)

First half bet of Ohio St over Oregon by 7.5

First half bet of the 32.5 over.

I'm in for a hundred and can net up to 230. I'm a little worried though. I do notoriously bad when I bet Ohio State with the only notable exception of putting a hundred dollar money line bet at the Bellagio at 4.5 to 1 for them to beat Miami for the championship.

Fuck 'em. Every time we've played these neon clowns, it's been a pimp slapping. I did a two team parlay of Ohio State minus the points and the over. I'm looking forward to picking up my 162.50 next Sunday.
For sure. Went that way also. Bucks could conceivably cover the Over themselves without a terrible first half like last week.

The books are always off on the Bucks early in the season, especially against ranked opponents. Maybe it's the Buckeyes are just too good vs ranked opponents early on but I usually try to take advantage of it before they start expanding their spreads by another 10 points or more. Plus $200 after last week getting to play with house money, hopefully the rest of the year.

Buckeyes -14.5 $110 to win $100
Buckeyes 14.5/Over 63.5 $50 to win $130

I always play my favorite straight bet to back a parlay. On week when I find one that I think is an absolute lock I try to wheel it but that is too hard early on or championship weeks.

Good fortune everyone, especially the Buckeyes!

Generally, if I do well, I'll keep folding a hundred of that week's winnings back into my nut and by season's end will hopefully have a pot of about 5-7 hundred to play with (if things go well!). If I end up having to bring the nut back up to a hundred a few times, I'll probably be hoping to break even by year's end. Beyond that I put a hundred pre-season for the Bucks to win the NC at 5.5 to 1. My philosophy is to play with enough and do some parlays and money line underdog bets that I can win enough to have some fun with the money. If I crap out, it's probably no more than 500 for the season, and I can shrug that off. The whole goal is to end up with a lot of juice on top of my nut!:pimp:
