With Clemson though they were without I think 4 starters on defense early in the year. Venables is the reason why Clemson is so good. He really is outstanding at what he does and without him Clemson is nothing IMO. They hit gold that he doesn't want a HC spot.

I will never understand teams who won't do everything to stop a player from killing them.

I understand it opens up other options but why not double Smith to take him away? Stack the box and double Smith. Force Jones to go anywhere but 1 or 22.

I don't trust us even double teaming Smith. Clemson's O isn't as good but would probably still score 30-35 unless we improve on D bama would be uper 40's low 50s. Our D is pretty comparable to Florida it feels like. Clemson's D is worse then last year especially at DB
