Week 14 CCG Games Discussion Thread

No because the CFP isn’t governed by the NCAA.
I keep hearing that. The NCAA doesn't govern the CFP, but they govern college sports, and the CFP is college sports.

Going down a wormhole are teams allowed to break other NCAA rules if they make the playoffs, does this not apply to bowls that aren't in the CFP? I don't understand. The NCAA often forces teams to vacate other bowl wins or bans teams from post season play, can they still do that or is it just CFP bowls? If we make the playoffs can we pay bounties to get players from other teams to join, or a player that has exhausted his NCAA eligibility? Does the 85 man roster still matter in the CFP? Does the CFP playoff have rules that keep teams from doing this?

Can the NCAA still ban teams from post season play or force teams to vacate wins for non CFP bowls? If not, then when the NCAA lose this power? If so does that mean the CFP is a cheat code for elite teams to bypass NCAA rules? Or does the CFP have a mechanism to investigate or enforce rules, does it even have any rules?

As near as I can do it concisely; the NCAA doesn’t sanction the CFP. They can govern the teams in it.

Think Heisman trophy. If the Downtown Athletic Club wants to take a Heisman away because the winner got nailed by the NCAA they can, but they don’t have to.
