Week 12 Games Discussion

Not according to SEC fans.

Ive seen enough of them over the years arguing that the SEC playing 4 OOC games and usually a cupcake in late November is "no advantage" because playing some middling or lower conference team is "no different" than playing a Austin Peay or UAB type team. "The better teams are going to win anyway so whats the difference!"

Which is of course BS. You might have to break a sweat against a Missouri or Indiana type team. Bamas 4th string could easily beat Austin Peay. It's just a built in extra bye week pretty much.

Also not to mention playing 9 conference games assures half the conference has a extra loss they probably would not have had if they played a 4th OOC game (which of course is never used to schedule anyone of substance)
that, and it's the week before the rival game. it'd be nice to have a rest your starters game before the biggest game of the year.

But most of them are fucking idiots.

Our schedule next year is abysmal. I know why we do it but we should never schedule YSU. MAC teams are at least part of the Group of 5 even if they aren't really competitive. They do occasionally win games they aren't supposed to but as has been pointed out, Austin Peay, Citadel and other FCS schools are not going to win more than 1 in 100 against only the worst conference schools. You have no control over how bad or good your conference foes are, you just go play them every year like you're supposed to. My opinion is we should play all conference games except for 2 OOC games and never play FCS. Make that the rule across the board if you want to play for the playoff

I agree about not playing FCS schools. At least it's not a annual occurrence for us though. I can really only think of 3 other times in recent memory Ohio State has played a FCS team (Florida A&M where Guiton threw 6 TDs and Youngstown State in 2007/2008 I think?)

Playing Notre Dame in South Bend is far more ballsy than our northern neighbors, who play East Carolina, UNLV, and Bowling Green, all at home.

But I could've done without Youngstown State. Hell, send Fredo to pick up somebody at the airport, or to get their asses kicked in The Shoe.

We'll even let them bang cocktail waitresses two at a time.

It's nuts. BG blows a 21-point lead. Toledo goes up with 51 seconds left, and BG wins it with 9 seconds left.

This sets up BG-Ohio next week for a spot in the CCG.
Isn't Buffalo also sitting on 2 losses? They beat BG and lost to OH I know, forget what they did against Ohio...does that factor in if Ohio wins?

EDIT: Nevermind, head to head it wouldn't matter because Ohio beat Buffalo.
