Week 1 Games Discussion

North Carolina is providing evidence of something that I think will be a trend

The thing that is popular to point at is all of the teams that had a rougher-than-expected season due to COVID. Something that was nearly as common (at least) but that no one wants to talk about (it seems) is that a lot of teams had much better seasons because of COVID.

I suspected that North Carolina was a COVID fraud. Their performance this evening is early evidence in that general direction.

The game tomorrow between Indiana and Iowa is a battle between two teams that I suspect of being COVID frauds. It will be interesting to see who was helped more by COVID. I suspect it was the Hoosiers

You mean one of the supposed Heisman front-runners?
I've seen him pegged as a top-5 pick next year. I'm not one to read too much into one game...especially season openers...but woof. That was a brutal half of football. He was really good in 2019 & 2020, so good chance he comes around, but he's picking up a lot of skeptics. Lets see if Mack Brown can make some halftime adjustments like Ryan Day did last night...

The one thing I'm noticing is Carolina's receivers get pushed around and go down with contact a lot.

Edit: of course when you run a tunnel screen where they can run untouched to the end zone then it doesn't matter much....
