He lowered his head and hit the other player in the head with the crown of his helmet. Feels pretty clear cut to me.

Ransom kept his head up, initiated contact with his shoulder, and the WR if anyone lowered his helmet and speared Ransom’s face make with it. Pretty clear cut distinction to me.

Did he lower the shoulder, or lower the head? Initial contact was side of the helmet to shoulder (not really the crown, and if so, just barely), and it goes back to the point I made during the OSU game, helmets are big. Your head comes down when you lower the shoulder, it just does. Again, I understand wanting to make that call for the safety of the defender in this case (to reinforce that hey, maybe not the safest way to hit), but I still think it wasn't targeting.

Okay, so the lower part of the defender’s helmet his the shoulder or lower head slightly before the crown hit straight into the QBs helmet. I don’t see what that changes.
