That wouldn't surprise me at all. That seems like the kind of game that could end up 77-0.
They're awful. I live in Corn country and they really are great fans. You go out on a Saturday in the fall here and everyone is wearing Huskers gear. Very friendly, too; I've been wished "good luck" ahead of big games countless times when I'm out in Buckeye gear. The cold reality that their program will never again approach the heights they experienced up through the turn of the millennium seems to be setting in. Instead of anger on blogs, message boards and comments sections, there seems to be more silent resignation. Though, local news sources/writers have begun openly writing it's time for a change. It's such a stark contrast from the excitement when they hired him. Their ceiling now is Iowa and that's gonna take some serious work.
It certainly wasn't just him, but he had some really bad moments...taking bad sacks, fumbling, missing open receivers multiple times. I watched the whole game and I was astonished at how poorly coached they are across the board. Scott Frost's goose is cooked. The only question now is which loss they fire him after. I'm not sure he makes it to December.
Got as far as this line:
Sure, Nebraska will always be one of the most powerful programs in college football--along with teams like Florida State, Michigan and Notre Dame--

"I hope [the Big 12 presidents] will take a look at the fact
that the Big Eight has four teams in the top 10 [Nebraska, No. 5
Colorado, No. 7 Kansas State and No. 9 Kansas]," said Osborne,
after the Fiesta Bowl. "We did it with Big Eight rules."
I was going to ask if some writer had that article sitting in the bottom of a desk drawer somewhere, then I saw it's dated Jan, 1996.Got as far as this line:

Has anybody checked on @alexhortdog95? He seems conspicuously absent.
Condolences on your loss. And thanks for sticking around on The Planet.Hello all - I figured I'd get a mention over here, but I've been busy. Been a hell of a few weeks for me, and the lack of the Huskers' toughness has been on the lowest of my priority lists.
First thing that happens is my mother passes away on August 12th in Indiana. Have an older brother, but, like most siblings, he's not kicked in a single dime for the funeral (yet...). So that responsibility fell on me. Next, my wife gets some news that she has some suspicious spots on her left breast (many of you all know she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019). She gets an exam this Tuesday, and we're hoping for the best, but that further took the wind out of our sails.
On a positive note, my eldest was moved down to Lincoln to start her freshman year enroute to an undergrad in Mechanical Engineering. I did ask her last Saturday how it felt when her team lost, and here's how that went:
Me: "Hey - how's it feel to be on campus since your team lost?"
Her: "I didn't feel anything."
Me: "Where's your school spirit?"
Her: "I have a hat. I was too busy watching Criminal Minds."
Me:
In the grand scheme of things, if I did care about this football team like many around here, my wife would be a widow right now the way things are going,
That's tough stuff. Be well, and good luck. Ditto for sticking around here! And for the record, I have worked with several husker engineer graduates over the years and they were top notch.Hello all - I figured I'd get a mention over here, but I've been busy.
