And not the NCAA? Now I'm really confused. Why wouldn't everybody get their information from the NCAA? It's all knowing and all seeing. :roll2:



(by the way, I was saying the US Senate, which is hardly infallable, and ABC got their data from the NCAA, who in turn got it from Texas. As has been the case throughout this whole thread, you are arguing the same thing with somebody.....but you just like to argue.)

The NCAA got their information from Texas. I doubt the Senate got the info from the NCAA.

Yes, I like to argue. It stirs things up. If it's not your thing feel free to pass on it. Don't expect me to accept a bunch of hooey, just because a bunch of message board geeks (of which I am one) have all agreed that X is the reality they want to live with, even if it conflicts with official information.

This isn't a Stassen v. NCAA - who's the better authority, Kt... it never was. It was me posting the records from Stassen which supported your contention that OSU was #6 all time in terms of winning percentage. For some unknown reason, you decided to take issue with Stassen's record keeping. That's how it went down.

Your beloved NCAA stats and my citation to Stassen agreed, save for the problem of the 3 games...

A quick word on "Official Stats" for ktffan:

Who is the keeper of Official stats for Ohio State football? Ohio State.

OK... so, MoWells was tackled in the EZ for a safety. He lost a yard on that carry. The loss is represented in that stats here:

from AP game coverage -

"In the second quarter, the Scarlet went up 9-0 when lineman Todd Denlinger tackled Maurice Wells in the end zone. The safety was set up by A.J. Trapasso's 48-yard punt, downed at the Gray 1 by defensive back Zach Willis."

I was sitting at the game with BB73, Cincibuck, SIMV, TimBUCK2 and Buckeyeryn, and each should be able to confirm that Denliger indeed made said tackle.

So, lets see how many TFL's Denliger is credited with:

I think you missed the point. Ohio State (at least in this one case) isn't listing the correct stats. This mistake will be passed along to the NCAA (or would be if it wasn't a spring game) ... then they (the NCAA) will be listing incorrect stats. I know this isn't really a concern for you as your interest lies in 'offical' stats, not 'accurate' ones. :wink2:
