I like taking the risk of bringing on Shea and leaving Beasley out there. They're playing with house money right now.

Damarcus is on empty and playing on instinct, of which he has plenty. And as such, not thinking, he'll be fine now.

Huge point for the Americans, especially considering that we were playing without one of our best midfielders and without a real LB. With that said, Beasley filled in admirably at LB, and only made, really, 1 huge mistake, which obviously didn't cost us.

Player of the game is, without a doubt, Omar Gonzalez. He was so steady back there and looks like a mainstay in the US back four. Besler also was solid, considering his lack of experience and considering that he was down a yellow early.

A great result. That should have been a penalty, but officials miss stuff all the time (the U.S. certainly has been victimized before). Also, it's karma in my opinion for Mexico diving all the time. When you dive all the time, you aren't going to get and you don't deserve as many calls.

I'll take this point any day of the week. Didn't really create that dangerous of chances & they were very few and far between, but it didn't matter. We clearly frustrated them after the first 10 minutes or so in each half & that really hampered them. They had ample set piece opportunities of which only a few were dangerous, but Guzan wasn't relatively tested all that often. We forced them to play into our strong point, which is our height advantage & it worked out perfectly. I don't recall Chicharito or Guardado doing much of anything. They really tried to go after Beasley on the left & it worked well a few times, but we were extremely disciplined at the back & gave them nothing. Great effort & exactly what we needed out of this match.
