Mine tells me the time in three (count them 3!) time zones and the date. Although, not being a Rolex, it doesn't impress valet parkers, real estate agents and potential muggers.

I saw this thread and thought I should jump in. I haven't had a watch on since May 7, 2021, the day I retired. Took it off and never put it on again. Haven't missed it once.
I did the same thing, it’s been even longer for me. Not having the weight of that sundial on my wrist is a huge relief!

I must be doing retirement wrong. Need a watch more than ever, as have to be different places, at different times, and don't have an assistant to fetch me when needed for an unneeded meeting somewhere. Plus have car travel time, versus down the hall. Where can I get some retirement lessons?

I highlighted the key. I do what I want, when I want, if I want. "Have to" has left my vocabulary entirely. Of course, before I retired there are people (including my boss and those who reported to me) who would have told you even then I did what I wanted, when I wanted, if I wanted.

I used to be a "fancy" watch guy (Tag Heuer was my weakness) - hit some tough times and had to sell (I had 3 at one point) - since then i've switched to a garmin instinct smart watch simply so i can see who's texting/calling and not have to get my phone out of my pocket - yeah i'm lazy. I still dearly miss my 2005 Aquaracer

Had a "friend" who laughed at my Rollie. Said he could lose 12 of his watches and still be saving money. He was right, but on a pedestrian level. Now I read that Rolex's are thing of the past. Look to upgrade, and purchase same watch for wifey, and am astounded by prices. Could be my best stock pick of all time, as my Rolex model retails for 4-5x what paid for it. Of course it's got 40+ years less on it....
