Washington Commanders (official thread)

Springs released.

Great job with Haynesworth, regardless of money.

Hall is nowhere near a top 5 corner anymore, but, money aside, if he's a position of need, then it's a decent sign.

NFL players and agents everywhere should be thanking Haynesworth and his agent, as a whole bunch of people are going to get over paid now, and every owner should be wanting to punch Dan Snyder in the mouth

Screw the owners.

They are all dragging their feet (along with the NFLPA who doesn't have a leader yet) and are going to end up with an uncapped year next year anyway. that's why the FA season this year and next is going to be crazy.

Redskins will have a pretty sick D-line rotation if they draft Orakpo. Cornelius,Albert and Kedric at DT and rotaion of Jason Taylor,Andre Carter and Orakpo ( if we draft him) at DE.

Are they keeping Taylor? I remember hearing some rumors that he might be out if Haynesworth signs.

DHall was a top-5 corner before the falcons tomfoolery took over... he wasn't at that level last year, but too many DBs have not panned out for Washington to let Hall walk.
no offense but that statement proves you didn't watch many Falcon games when Hall was there. He was routinely beaten deep and pouted when he would get beat leading to the ridiculous penalties. Don't let INT numbers fool you DHall has never been a top 5 CB. The talent is there but it is pretty evident that at this point he is more of a head case than a Pro Bowler...

Guilty. You would agree that he had top-5 (or close) talent though?

I don't know if spending a ton of money on these 2 players is especially wise.

Haynesworth can be lazy at times, so for your sake I hope he doesn't take the contract and sit on it.

Hall has the skills but he's always lacked the structure so he could focus them....maybe it'll happen in DC....

absolutely, he may be the most talented CB in the league. He just hasn't matured enough to be the player he could be. I was a little surprised Wash. gave him that much cash but he is a definite quality starter in the NFL.
