Vuze (azerus) shuts down my PC

I tried downloading the OSU-Michigan game and instantly my PC restarted. I eventually downloaded the whole game after several restarts. I also upgraded to the newest version which did nothing. I figured it was just that one torrent.

Now I'm trying to download another one and it's doing the same thing. Anybody ever heard of this or have any ideas?

Random reboots are usually power related. The fact you're running Azureus may just be coincidental. I'd check the PS exhaust fan and the fan on the CPU. Does it occur running anything else CPU intensive?

You might have a corrupted install. The fun uninstall/reinstall loop might take care of it.

(Unless by "upgrade to the newest version" you did unisntall & reinstall rather than just updated.)

ok now I'm concerned. I removed Vuze and installed uTorrent, and started the download over again. about 5 minutes later the same thing happened.
I'm tellin' ya, crack the case and clean out those dust bunnies, especially on the CPU fan. P4s automatically throttle down to 50% power when they begin running hot. When they hit critical temps they shut themselves off out of self-preservation.

Might be a good idea to be sure the fan is actually running all the time! Fans do fail frequently. The one in my Dell died and caused over heating. Good news is you can replace most. Crack the case, but be careful! :tongue2:
