An ensuing discussion started about the stupidity of dark visors at night, and I suggested that more players should wear visors like this one from trannon. I remember the multicolored reflective ones, but I don't recall seeing a reflective one like this before (please correct me). I think it looks pretty sweet, but might not look great with OSU's helmet.

I always thought that once you get to the pros, it doesn't matter what color or how tinted your visor is.

I also thought that in college(and high school) you are only allowed to have clear/100% transperent visors.

Any insight on this?

They don't allow mirrored visors anymore because medical staffs couldn't see players eyes if they were worried about head injuries. I'm in favor of banning visors as a whole, especially now that they have the Nike sunglasses contacts.

I'm in favor of visors in amateur football(high school and college) only if they are 100% clear. In the pros i really don't care, that is their decision. But i'm totally against the banning of visors, some guys need them to avoid injury, in last year's wisconsin game, Anthony Davis was wearing a clear one to avoid further injuring of his eye. He didn't even want to wear it, but they Wisconsin trainers wouldn't allow him to play without it. Some guys need them for prescription purposes.

BTW I could never find prescription visors, but i know they make them, anyone know where they can be found?

I actually think that visor use should be more wide spread. Not necessarily for glare problems, but for eye protection. Goggles look ridiculous, and a simple eye poke could ruin someone's career, or more importantly, at the H.S. and lower levels it could seriously injure someone's ability to read in class, and ultimately affect their chances of future success.

I think a lot of guys use a visor, but they're clear.
