Visiting Charlotte, NC

The towncar to take the fam and me to the airport for a four day pleasure trip to Charlotte, NC will be in the driveway at 5:00 AM...

I'll let you know how it goes. Sis in law and her fam just moved there from Cincy. Sadly, no Skyline in Charlotte.

even though i'm used to it since living in Florida...seeing those words still makes me sad :(

probably over the past 6 years or something, everytime I have made an extended trip to Ohio (not just flying in for an OSU game) I have MADE SURE to stop at skyline

Wow, holy crap look at that place. Maybe I'm getting old, but seems like it would be really cool to see.

Also, my client was actually from Asheville but flew in through Charlotte. He also mentioned good golfing and that weather could change 10 degrees in a 30 minute drive-- I guess Asheville is at greater altitude.
The house is so big you expect to run into the skeletons of people who took a wrong turn on the tour and wandered for weeks. Amazing but also a bit creepy.

The gardens were incredibly beautiful. Not gardens-are-pretty beautiful. Holy-crap-it's-heaven beautiful. If I went again, I'd skip the house entirely.

Charlotte might still have gallery walks on Friday nights, which means all the other businesses would have special things, too. I had fun wandering around during a conference.
