There are plenty of OSU fans who root for scUM when they're playing anyone other than OSU. I don't see why maybe rooting for them when they play the evil empire of college basketball is such a bad thing, especially considering the fact that scUM beating UNC would be a very nice win for the conference and would likely be a pretty big upset.

I know you're just giving me shit. I'm annoyed that we'll all get to hear about UNC for the next year again. So fucking tired of hearing about them, and whichever golden boy they'll worship next year since the Tebow of college basketball will graduate and fade into mediocrity at the next level.

It's actually funny...since I quit watching ESPN, I haven't had to hear anything of the sort. I haven't watched more than an hour of ESPN programming combined in the last eight months, outside of a game being shown on their networks. Fuck 'em.

The only TV I have the desire to watch is sports-related, so it's usually ESPN or nothing. Especially late at night..

I'd like to see a good game and Sparty come out on top. I always had respect for Dean Smith. Roy Williams falls under the same category for me. I'm not a "fan" of any other team but the Bucks, but I can appreciate NC doing things the right way (as far as I'm aware) for as long as they've been doing things.

I also was in attendance when NC whooped tOSU at St. John arena back when we had Funderburke. I still don't hate them. Go figure.

I have a great deal of respect for Dean Smith and Roy Williams as well, but I cannot stand their teams. It's odd.

But yeah, give 'em hell Sparty.

I agree with the above about UNC always having class. It's not like they're Duke or UF, where they bitch and cry if they don't have it their way. I've always had respect for UNC. Being from NC probably doesn't hurt, but this is the first title game ever I'm not bothered by the winner.

Sparta wins, the Big Ten gets credit <---hahah yeah right. UNC wins, my "second college" gets a title. Win/win- first time ever.

I spent some time at UNC. High class people that never said one thing bad about Ohio State and usually said something very complimentary. I never once heard one of their fans gloating about a win or their team's tradition or whatever. Very modest in conversation.

They despised Duke basketball but shopped with their fans at the same malls because the schools are so close. Chapel Hill looks like Columbus on game day, with team banners outside houses and people wearing team colors. Even the fire department trucks are UNC blue. There are a lot of links to Columbus there, even Butch Davis has an assistant that graduated from Brookhaven.

I found people in Chapel Hill to be our kind of people. One sometimes saw Ohio State shirts on campus. There are a few kids playing for UNC outside football and basketball who are on this board, so maybe it was them, I don't know. But, I sure wouldn't associate the arrogance associated with the Dookies with Tar Hell fans.
