Victoria's Secret Catalogs

A friend of mine from OSU worked for the Victoria's Secret catalog sales dept, anwering phones and taking orders. She used to say that she would take orders from a very large number of men who were buying the stuff for themselves. She said it would surprise you (or maybe not...) how often this happened.

I worked at Victoria's Secret Catalogue.

I did get one or two guys calling in. They weren't too happy to have a guy answer. . .

Oh, and everybody used to be astonished that I had an American accent. The catalogues always said "Victoria's Secret - London," and the recordings for those on hold had a british accent. Of course at the time Victoria's Secret didn't even have a store in London, I don't think. . .

Damn how much stuff does your wife buy from there?

Back when my health and our fiscal state were quite a bit different than they are now, we'd probably drop $2-3k a year there between her clothes shopping and me picking up gifts here and there. But that's not (IMO) enough to warrant the flood we still get years later. We haven't bought anything from there in some time though, I think the last thing was a gift for someone else.

We get flooded with all kinds of catalogs though. I'd say the stack averages about 12" tall per week. My favorite is the one out of Vail, CO with the $6000.00 sweaters. Lol, right, I'll sell my house and buy a few with what little equity I have. Obviously there are far more outrageous catalogs than that, but something like the Neiman Marcus Christmas catalogue is almost as fun as reading a magazine. I *need* that personal submarine from last year.

Have to admit though, the Christmas VS catalog has someone modeling that new "padless pushup bra" on the back, and I find myself impressed with the new 'technology'.
