Not to derail the convo too much from the hopes of quitting smoking (which I heavily endorse for I take full credit alone for my mother's quitting)....but,

My Valentine's Day was great. My girlfriend came and visited me in Athens over the weekend...I scored huge points for making a large framed construction paper mural of the scene of our first kiss. GENTLEMEN if you want to really blow her away, I suggest this one. And the best part...I spent under 20 bucks to put it all together....just took a few hours (5) to do it both accurately and presentably. I gave her a card too with some mush in it, but that's a given anymore.

She always gets me the greatest stuff. This year I got two very nice Express shirts (black & teal my fave two colors), a JCrew tie with my highschool colors striped, and the Notebook DVD which I'm convinced I received because she will have me watching it every other weekend from here on out. Good movie actually.

We didn't really do anything because well, we never go out to eat anywhere nice because we're poor. We just had a great night with each other. I won't complain.

21 - Kudos to you. I don't know how long you have dipped, but in circle of friends, the people who dip seem to find quitting much more difficult than the smokers do...and quitting smoking is **** tough.
Thanks man...its been consistent for 8 years and on and off since I was 18.

Ive never been a morning person but I have been getting up so much earlier and easier these past few weeks...it has to have to do with quitting.

Thump, no need for rep bro...Just trying to support my fellow BP nic-fiends.

Actually Scarlet...half the reason I remember was because it was in a two foot pile of snow underneath like 3,000 watts of apartment complex flood lights. I also remember practically half of my body being frost bitten....but it was worth it nonetheless. :) C'mon....anyone could remember that! Besides...we're still young and if I forgot already, I'd be on her dreaded "list".

Still, I highly recommend the gift idea...I mean, the consequences were off the charts.

I'm telling you guys... don't think about it and "will" yourself through the first two weeks (they are the hardest). Then don't "sneek" one. You'll fall off the wagon quicker than you can blink... treat it as one and done....

I smoked for about ten years (before that it was on occasion/social situations in highschool... although I did "dip" regularly back then), stoped for a year (a couple years ago) and fell off the wagon. In June, I made up my mind that I needed to be done with the bad habit (because I was "sneaking" them from my wife, and was bound to get caught sooner or later... and because I want to live past a young age... the fact I watched my grandfather pass away from cancer didn't hurt either.... he was in such pain as the cancer ate his insides)...

It's been over eight months now... not one single cig... (I have smoked a cigar every now and then... however I avg. about one a month)...

Just make up your mind and do it... IMO it's all about will power. If you really want to stop you can stop. It's just like staying away from other ladies if you're married... just don't do it....
