Back to bed young one.........:wink2:

These guys may have a different opinion of Young after he lights them up in the Rose Bowl. I'd was skeptical of him, but he proved to me that he is the MVP of that team when they beat us in Columbus......no small feat. Bush is fantastic, the best player in college football in probably a decade. If you take him off USC they may lose a game this season......but yet again, they still have Lendale White, Leinart, Jarrett......ect. If you take Young off Texas they probably would have lost 1-2 games this year (OSU and OSU  ).

I agree with ya here, but just to play devil's advocate....why should a great player be penalized for having a better supporting cast than the other?

thump, I agree with ya buddy but here is the thing. NO ONE ever wants to admit that VY is a great player until they play him. Hell, this board was filled with doubters as well. All we are hearing from the men of troy (message boards anyway) is that Vince throws like a girl and he just lobs the ball up there. Vince has no arm strength, heck vince really isn't even that fast. The bottom line is that he will have his chance to prove himself against the trojans. I hope he takes advantage of it.

I just hope the Trojans underestimate VY like their fans do...

First Joe Pa has tarnished tOSU! Young beat Bush out for an award! What did i miss going to bed early last night?!

Cant wait to see what the USC boards are saying when Young has the MVP of the Rose Bowl added to his hardware.

Thanks for pointing that out, I'll mark that down in my "no shit" journal. It was a mildly funny anecdote, I'll give you that. Your last comment "my dad never understood either" was a bit of a stretch, because I got it, but found myself wondering when Tony Danza signed up on Buckeyeplanet under the alias Bucknut319.

My apologies Mr. Foxworthy. In the future, I will try harder to make you chuckle.

Fear not, the condoms will be more unhappy come gameday for these 2 simple reasons.

1. Texas is having a magical year.

2. USC's unbeaten streak is DUE to be broken...law of averages.

Game day may prove me wrong, but I don't think USC's big guns have played against a decent defense all year while their own D got shoved around several times by medicore teams.

My gut call is that Texas' o and d lines, both of which impressed in Columbus, will push the condoms up and down the field. Their linebackers are a bit smaller, but they get to the outside in a flash and if they tackle they'll keep Bush limited to trying to hit the line for his yards. He's good there, but it's on the flanks and in the open field where he becomes a player on a whole other level. I don't think the Texas D will let him get there.

Vince Young vs Reggie Bush. I go back to a comment I made prior to the Texas game re: Young vs Ginn... the difference is that Texas's 'difference maker' has his hands on the ball every offensive play and this is a kid who can make the big play on you from anywhere on the field.

What I saw in the 04 Rose Bowl and again in Columbus is that Young is stronger than you think and has terriffic balance... you don't see him make an awkward move at any time in the game. I think he's underrated.

Agreed Cincy. USC is going ot have a real tough time hanging wiht Texas' lines. I look for Texas to pull off the upset.

Texas wins, PSU wins, OSU wins. OSU finishes #3 or #4 behind the 2 teams who bet us. Not bad.......

He really hadn't proven anything till he played us.

My favorite line was that he throws like Uncle Rico.

I agree that Texas will win this game. But if you're going to make an argument for your opinion, at least use strong reasons. And, no, "magical year" is not strong.

And saying that USC's steak is due to be broken - what does their previous 30+ games have to do with January 4? Sure - they wouldn't be playing January 4, were it not for the twelve previous wins, but the outcome of each game has nothing to do with previous games. The law of averages does NOT say that USC has little chance of winning.

Texas will win because:
- USC doesn't seem to have much of a defense. Sure, they shut down UCLA, but Fresno State scored 40+ on them.
- Texas, on the other hand, has a great offense. They scored 40+ in 11/12 games.

Zurp,

I could go on and pontificate like alot of you on why, which by the way is fine, but "magical" is what you have to have to win a NC ala 2002 OSU.

All else is superflous because of the turnovers, the x-factors and that is why they play the game.

There are only a handful of games that come along every year that your GUT just screams the right call.

"Magical" and "Law of Averages" is so logical it defies description.

The law of averages has nothing to do with this. It regards random events occurring numerous times, i.e., flipping a fair coin 1000 times. It has no bearing on an individual event. Even if you have flipped a fair coin 999 times and gotten heads every time, you still have a 50% chance of getting heads the next time. You are not "due" to get tails just beacuse you have had 999 heads in a row.
