USC, a winning tradition?

How did this thread start? It says that it was moved from the Justin King thread in the recruiting forum, but I don't see how Mili first post here correlates with the last one of the JK thread?

Mili, I don't inderstand why you think that USC doesn't have a winning tradition.
Did you mean ever, or are you just referring to the sorry performances of the 1990s?

I would think that all the NCs and RBs victories, even if such results were obtained at home, would demonstrate a certain winning tradition.

Again, I don't understand how this thread originated, so I may be speaking "out of sequence".

what was OSU's winning percentage during the 1980s?
USC being #10 in all time winning percentage means they have a winning tradition. Even ignorant OSU fans can figure that out.

And yes, Milly is an ass. So, continue to call him out as one. Even an outsider can figure that out.
1980-89 winning percentage:
Ohio State: 82- 35- 1, .697
Southern Cal: 78- 36- 3, .679

STFU, Tibor.

did you know that you have to go back the the early '30s ('31-33) to find three consecutive ten win seasons for the Trojans? the Buckeyes did that in the 90s, and the 70s... and until the '02 and '03 seasons, USC has not even posted BACK TO BACK ten win seasons since the run in the '30s... and USC has NEVER had four consecutive ten win seasons... Ohio State accomplished that feat in 1995-98,

The reason this got split off from the King thread was King made a comment about USC: "They have a great coaching staff, a winning tradition - great tradition period." I commented that I didn't think they had such a winning tradition in light of their mediocre performance in the '90s, and Muck went off.

Open letter to all Buckeye fans:

It's okay for other teams besides Ohio State to be good, and even have winning traditions. If a team is in the top ten in winning percentage in its history, it has a winning tradition. End of fucking story.

This thread is funny. Well, if you take this number for these teams, chop off the bad years for this team and chop off the good years for this team, then adjust for weather and wind direction...

This thread is funny because to suggest that USC doesn't have football tradition is nonsense.

However...the way in which this topic came up (I think) it makes more sense. None of the kids being recruited today can reflect back on their childhood days and say that USC was the team. I'm about 7 or 8 years older than the current high school recruits and my earliest recollection of USC football was from the USC-Notre Dame rivalry, or what used to be a rivalry. The announcers pretty much reflected back to what used to be and were upset about what happened to the storied program on the west coast. After Holtz left ND, they went downhill as well.

The recruits of today grew up watching football in the 90s at earliest, and so to point out which programs did what during that time period is relevant. I think the title of this thread is deceiving, and we have different people discussing different things.
