Why are USC lines so dominant?

Who is the O-line coach? I truly believe that the Ohio State University has the same number of amazing skill players; the difference is in the lines.

I'm not saying we have a bad line - I am very impressed after the Washington game. But I think it's clear that year in and year out (in the PC era), the USC lines have been HEAD and SHOULDERS over everyone else. Everyone. Period.

Whether it's pass pro or run blocking [which is beyond phenomenal], the o-line is always killing. Just murdering.

What's the secret?

The secret is that each and every year there are so many 6-5 250 DEs that run 4.6s in southern California and 6-3 280 pound DTs in Arizona, that even after USC get who they want, there are still left overs for UCLA, Stanford, Miami and others. It doesn't hurt that they are able to steal tremendous trench players from Florida, Texas and Louisiana as well.

plus they eat a lot of fish, which is better for you than beef. i remember before the '04 Rose Bowl the TSUN players clowning USC and making a big deal about their linemen eating sushi all the time. after USC dismantled them, one of their players sarcastically said, "yeah, i guess fish is kind of good for you."

I gotta ask: what do you think of Callahan? I think there's a man-love relationship between him and the AD that clouds the judgment of just what sort of coach he is. Personally, I think he sucks and that he's riding on the coattails of one successful year at Oakland. My wife's family in NE seems to like the guy, but I also believe they kinda have to.

That would be my bad. I was trying to merge another thread with a third thread. Between the time of me copying the address for the second thread and finishing the merge, someone else merged that second thread with this thread. Thus, when I pressed the merge button, it pulled this thread with it and destroyed the vbet.
