I'd argue he had control as soon as the ball hit his hand. That's what I was arguing. He was out of bounds when he cradled the ball, but he palmed that ball before he hit the turf and out of bounds.

I know exactly what you are talking about. He has it in one hand. I thought the same thing at first too. Yet you will see after he palms it the ball comes out of his hand (the ball was not in control for possession). Then he catches it when his knee is out of bounds.

You have to come down with the ball in control. That short time he was palming it is not possession. It comes out, and then he catches it.

It may have been possession if the ball stick in his hand and didn't move around as he tried to tuck it in. Yet that ball was not in his control as he tries to tuck it into his body.

They weren't very impressive the first three quarters, falling behind 34-14, but they did a great job of fighting back and almost forcing overtime.
