I'll give you the situation: Less than a minute to go, USC is up 21-7 on UCLA, and UCLA just turned it over on downs. So, USC runs it on first down and gets stuffed for a loss, and UCLA calls a timeout to stop the clock. So, the next play, Pete Carroll calls a play-action pass and Barkley hits a wideopen receiver for a TD. Leads to a 15 yard personal foul on UCLA and almost ignites a brawl.

Yeah I actually don't have a problem with what Carrol did. If the other coach wants to call timeouts when the game is over, why can't you respond back at them? Could be the start of one hell of a nasty rivalry if UCLA keeps Nuehisel around as well.

No, USC took a knee to run the clock out with 54 seconds left. UCLA then called a timeout. That's busch league on Neuheisel's part. If I were Carroll it would have pissed me off, too. The game was over, and USC was trying to say it was over by taking a knee. If you want to prolong the game, as if there is something to salvage, you better be prepared to face the consequences.
