Underclassmen Declaring For The 2010 NBA Draft

Is there a big contract dispute going on? Are the rules going to change? I thought they'd just agreed to do away with one and done.
I am not sure if the CBA is up at the end of this year or at the end of next. I think the new CBA between the Players Association and owners is supposed to resolve this issue. I don't know if they have to talk to the NCAA about it or not. Looks like nothing will happen in the near future:(

From Wikipedia

The new agreement will expire following the 2010-11 season, but the League has the option to extend it through the 2011-12 season if they wish. If so, the League must exercise its option to extend the agreement by December 15, 2010.
Little changed in terms of the salary cap between the 1999 and 2005 versions of the CBA. In exchange for agreeing to the controversial player age minimum, the players will receive a slightly higher percentage of the League's revenues over the course of the new agreement. Additionally, the League's maximum salary decreased slightly in comparison to the 1999 CBA.

Most of these guys seem to be getting their draft advice from Peewee Herman.

Hayward is staying in the draft.

Too bad for Butler. :(

I think he could really use 1 more year, but that goes for a lot of these kids. I can't believe how far Gordon has come, so it will be cool to see him reach his dream.

Gordon Hayward is one of the few underclassmen on that list who really belong there.
Guess I have to disagree here.

I think he's still got a lot of 'growing into his body' to do. He's lanky and still a little awkward at times.

His shot went to hell this year. He seemed to be trying to add some more bulk (which he'll still need some more of) and his jumper suffered big time. 3pt % went from 45% to 29% this past season. A skinny 6'9" forward that can't shoot from the outside doesn't really add much to a team.

I see a winner and a competitor, but I think one more year of fine-tuning would serve him well. I'll be rooting for him and I hope his shot comes back. He's a great kid, local, still hangs around the courts out in Brownsburg (I was on the "scrubs" side of the courts :p).

I will also note, though, that I may be a slightly biased Butler supporter. :)

Most of your points are probably true for 20% of the guys declaring early:(
