underclassmen declaring for NFL

Mandel is also wrong on Spence. He'd have been a senior this year (no redshirt). Not that it matters, because had he not taken his detour he'd have left last year and been a 1st rounder.
Yup. Many think he's still a first round pick, which speaks to how highly regarded he would have been in last spring's draft if he didn't struggle off the field.

Next up: "Urban Meyer declares for the 2016 NFL Draft"

If I'm reading this right (without looking at the depth chart), we've lost everyone from the starting defense except a linebacker and a DE. We've also lost everyone from the starting offense except a QB, and 2 linemen.
likely 6 returning starters

think that was the joke
Lol jokes on me then.

I assume Bell and Thomas declare officially tomorrow anf this nightmare ends? They are doing it tactfully but it's a slow pain at this point.

I'm worried about next season, then then again we were about 4 years away from being an undefeated team in 2012, and a year away from being a national title contender in 2014 (JT, Zeke, and Devin Smith - who?).

Here is the 'glass half empty' guy saying that all is not doom and gloom. Good nucleus everywhere except DB and WR. OL has been breaking in new talent, and if memory serves, the DL guys were spelling the 1's pretty often as well. DB will be hurt, hopefully Smith and Lattimore and Webb are able to go full tilt (Cam as well). Will miss the QB of the DBs, so that is a huge hole. LB may be better than OK, as Dante got some good reps, and there are some good guys coming on. Kwon will have to step up his game as the QB of the LBs, so hopefully Joshua brought him along. RB will miss Zeke, and his second efforts, but .... WR is starting from scratch, and Buckeye Nation saw what happened when the WR's don't block down on the LBs to spring the run, and that is hard to do. The coaches will earn their money next year for sure, and tOSU will still put a pretty good product out on the field. Not going to predict a Final Four yet, but certainly in the B10 championship game. MSU and Up North will lose a heck of a lot more than tOSU, and they are not nearly so deep. Happy New Year, and May Urb still get a late Xmas present, a 5* DT under his tree. Go Bucks

PS, haven't heard, but usually, a pro scout or two give the Jrs a potential round in which they project to be drafted. Crap shoot for sure, but anything within the first two-three rounds is a 'go'. Haven't heard about many of the early leavers. Anyone hear anything? I see through scarlet & gray glasses like everyone else, but cannot believe ALL of these young men will earn first three round money.....Ready, reload!

Brown is essentially a returning starter, assuming he is fully healthy.

Schutt was not outplaying Hill. Boren and Farris had some rough times this year and vannett was up and down. Those spots can be replaced if not upgraded next year.

Wideout is losing a ton of talent but a better scheme and blocking could really turn them into a much better group. I also think Samuel provides a more steady h back than Braxton, who was feast or famine with the ball (when he got it).

Next year could see a more natural set of wideouts with brown, hill, Gibson, Mack (maybe one more frosh?) with Samuel, Wilson and McCall. There will be growing pains but I love their long term potential.

And most of all, this will be a hungry team once more who has accomplished next to nothing. The only two who will have accomplished much of anything will be Barrett and McMillan and both are major warriors .

Biggest loss by position group will be in the secondary. And it's not even close. For all the DT talk, the needs in the back 4 are way more severe.

As for Wideouts, call me less concerned than some are. Losing Mike T is huge and Jalin was a solid contributor too but there is just a ton of talent there. Campbell, Samuel and Wilson have quite a bit of experience even without gaudy stats. This is important to note. They will not be "new" by any stretch. Then as Josh said, Noah is practically a returning starter. So that's 4 guys and we haven't gotten in to the "potential" guys of Hill, Gibson, Mack, Mclaurin, Dixon, Clark and another potential '16 guy like Corley if he commits. That's an absolute ton to work with. Look at all those capable guys and it's not hard to imagine we will actually be just fine.

Not terribly worried about the O Line but there will clearly be growing pains.

Based on coaches comments about Weber I'm feeling fine about the RB spot but clearly Zeke will be missed quite a bit. I expect JT to run more than I'm comfortable with.

Not terribly concerned about D Line but it will be a drop off.

Not terribly concerned about LB crew. In fact I expect there won't be a huge drop off once conference play starts. I expect big things from our young guys.

I'm really only in total panic mode about the secondary. There's no sugar coating that. Really need an impact recruit at safety in particular like Jordan Fuller. I'm very high on E Smith but there's just not a lot of bodies in that group.

Are we holding out hope for Corey Smith to return on medical redshirt or has that ship sailed?

I have not heard anything final on that. We also don't know if they will be less lenient since he only qualifies due to being suspended in game 1 (technically that's not participating, but since it's a subjective thing, it could play a factor).
