Underclassmen Declare For 2008 NBA Draft

If a kid wears the scarlet and gray for one game and leaves, regardless if it was on good or bad terms....he will always be a Buckeye to me.
I would not go that far. I think if we are just talking about declaring early I am with you to an extent but I would like the kid to leave as a eligible player so that he does not hurt the University that gave him an opportunity to display his talents. I know that goes both ways with the University receiving its rewards also. I personally do not like the one and done rule. I would have preferred if they would have left it alone and let the kid enter straight from high school or adopt the baseball rule.

I understand your view....look at it this way.....the player did not make the system.....the NCAA and the NBA created this mess.....if anyone feels anger or harsh feelings towards Oden or Koufos in this case....there feelings should be directed at the system in which these kids are locked into.....

My point is that I do not blame the player for chasing their dream......while I respect other opinions on the subject, I feel that the players should not be held accountable for what the NCAA has created.....the APR. We may lose a scholie in the near future due to Oden not completing his spring quarter last year and that is the risk Matta and tOSU takes when recruiting obvious 1 year players.....but what is really impressive is that all 3 are going to back on campus this summer to continue their education.....but tOSU does not get any credit for them returning to school.

Kansas guard Chalmers opts to test NBA waters

LAWRENCE, Kan. -- Miracle Mario wants to see where he stands in the NBA.

Kansas star Mario Chalmers declared himself eligible for the NBA Draft on Wednesday, deciding to not sign with an agent to leave open the possibility of a return to the national champion Jayhawks.

The junior guard says he'll come out only if it looks like he'll be picked in the first round of the June 26 draft. If not -- he's currently projected to go between pick Nos. 25-35 -- Chalmers will return to Kansas, the team he helped win its third national championship with one of the biggest shots in NCAA tournament history.

I am suprised by so many guys declaring......this is getting crazy, especially when you consider the foreign players haven't really begun to trickle into the draft yet....some guys are making a big mistake.
I think a lot are just testing out the waters to see where they could possibly be drafted, if at all. Wouldn't surprise me to see a bunch of these guys back in college next year.

They might have to come back with so many players declaring early in addition to guys graduating and foreign players there might not be enough roster spots in the NBA and overseas to take all of these players. This is getting absolutely ridiculous and something really needs to be done. Hopefully, the NBA Players Association and the NBA will see the light one of these days.

The thing is with all these guys testing the waters, and not knowing really who is going to stay and who isn't these guys are going to get a bunch of hogwash in terms of their chances to get drafted...i hate the idea of being able to declare but opt out moreso than I hate the idea of one and done...You are either in or you are out...
