All that being said, I absolutely love the class that this is being handled with by everyone. Leyland, Galaraga, and Joyce should all be commended for the class that they have shown in dealing with this situation. Its so rare in this day and age to see players act like Galaraga is, and kudos to Leyland for backing him up on that.

I don't know. I was sick for the pitcher and I'm an Indians fan.

Galarraga has something better than a perfect game, he has the first perfect game blatantly botched by a 1st base umpire on national television. I mean, 20 other people have pitched your run-of-the-mill perfect game before, so Galarraga now enjoys the distinction of having done something nobody else has ever done.BengalsAndBucks;1711336; said:My opinion is that the call should be overturned. "First, on behalf of Major League Baseball, I congratulate Armando Galarraga on a remarkable pitching performance. All of us who love the game appreciate the historic nature of his effort last night.
"The dignity and class of the entire Detroit Tigers organization under such circumstances were truly admirable and embodied good sportsmanship of the highest order. Armando and Detroit manager Jim Leyland are to be commended for their handling of a very difficult situation. I also applaud the courage of umpire Jim Joyce to address this unfortunate situation honestly and directly. Jim's candor illustrates why he has earned the respect of on-field personnel throughout his accomplished career in the Major Leagues since 1989.
Calling for an umpires head over anything is probably laughable.....but don't simplify it like that. there was more going on than just a random 3-0 game.calling for an umpires head over a safe call at first base during the 9th inning of a 3-0 Detroit Tigers / Cleveland Indians game on June 2nd is laughable.
