UConn +3.5 at TSUN (ov/un 54.5) Sat 3:30 ET ABC/ESPN2

I know that the game is not quite over, but here are my thoughts:

1) Offense - Pretty much what I thought, more together than last year, OL play has improved, DR has stepped up his passing game. I also saw a lot of negative plays due to the scheme they run, and that DR will get hurt in a big way unless Richy stops running him into the ground (which I don't see happening, see Pat White)

2) Defense - Does seem better, more "aware" of what is going on, and Martin is a load in the middle. Secondary is still very suspect as they were not tested at all during this game. Saw a lot of missed tackles again, and dropped balls stalled drives that helped the UM D. For me, jury is still out.

Overall, the team has improved over last year, but I still see only 5 maybe 6 wins this season. As the season wears on, there will be injuries, and that will devastate this team on both sides of the ball. JMHO.

Well, all in all, I don't know what to take away from this. scUM's offense is definately improved, but they're not nearly as dynamic if shoelaces get hurt, and he will if they make him tote it 30 times a game. I still don't know if they have a RB. The defense was bailed out by a few key miscues. I UConn would score more because I figured they'd shred the secondary. Then I saw Frazier throw. He's probably the worst QB they face this year aside from whoever BGSU/UMass have.

I agree to a certain point but their offence is so one dimensional with DRob it's not even funny. Slow him down and they are done. And the scUM D is not even close to being good.

Slowing him down won't be easy. He's very fast and very elusive...but it can be done. UConn was just inept in pretty much every phase of the game.

Few things.

Offense is what I knew it would be. They will be decent this year and it would be nice if they can have drives like they did to open the 3rd quarter to keep the d on the bench.

Robinson does look good. I was shocked to see Gardner come in over Forcier. Wouldn't be surprised to see him transfer like other decent qbs who are 2nd or 3rd string.

I still think Michigan can get to 6 wins to become bowl eligible and 7 wins would be a good year.

The D just doesn't seem that better. They didn't miss many tackles like they used to, but there was were some big holes that Uconn could run through. It was frustrating to see Michigan's d stuff them a couple plays only to give up a 12-15 yard run. I also liked them forcing that fumble in the redzone. They will give up a lot of yards, but if they could force some key turnovers....that will be huge.

Special teams today was horrible.

Was a good day, I thought it would be a 35-31 type game. So I'm happy with the results for today.

He is going to get his receivers killed before the season is over. Roundtree took a big shot....threw him right into a safety. I saw at least 3 other throws where he hung his receiver out.

Overall though, if you were a Michigan fan, you couldn'tg ask for a better game from Denard.
