Scrambling Nico was my only concern with this game. We know anything about this other guy?
Please join me in prayer for Luke Duncan.![]()
UCLA Quarterback Nico Iamaleava Reportedly Will Not Play Against Ohio State Due to Concussion
UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava will not play against Ohio State due to a concussion, according to a report by On3’s Brett McMurphy.www.elevenwarriors.com
Saturday night’s game was supposed to be a return to the Shoe for Iamaleava, who played against the Buckeyes in last year’s College Football Playoff as Tennessee’s quarterback. Instead, it will be the first career start for UCLA backup quarterback Luke Duncan.
A redshirt sophomore who was a three-star prospect in the 2023 recruiting class, Duncan has not attempted a pass all season – or at all in his UCLA career – as Iamaleava has thrown every pass for the Bruins this year.
Duncan has been one of the standouts on the 7v7 circuit this off-season and there’s a lot to like there. Duncan has a smooth, easy delivery and can get the ball down the field. He is accurate to all three levels and understands anticipation and getting the ball out on time. The theme for Duncan is consistency. He had some great throws where you saw the natural arm talent and he looks like one of the top pocket passers the region. We want to see him continue to improve mobility and his ability to make throws outside the pocket but there’s some definite upside with him for sure.
The silver bullets will probably be praying for him throughout the game when they’re not on the field giving him reasons to be prayed for. Please join me in prayer for Luke Duncan.
I guess 14-7 game incoming. We've proven that if it's a QB's first major start we don't have what it takes to do anything, either. No other factors may have been at play, right SEC?![]()

Shoot that’s all we’ve played it seems like all year.Bummer that Nico I is out. Would have liked to see the D get some more reps against a running QB
I-O!!Sorry I'm late fellas. In the middle of loading a truck with everything we own due to being forced to move out of our home with no idea where we're going to go. Yeah, I have a bad attitude but can't mess with the routine. Anyways..........
