Yeah, they don't call him the Shark for nothing. Jeff definitly has a huge beak, but the guy is a real player. Hes pretty good in both football and baseball, you don't see too many people that can do it. He was pretty well covered all day until that last catch, if Brady threw the ball instead of pumping it on that play, he gets picked off and ND loses.
Damn, I actually finally agree with you.
Haha, I've never claimed to be anything but a realist. I said I wouldn't believe this team was back until they could win a decent bowl game, and after playing like they did today I'll stick by that.
On one hand, Weis has definitly improved the offense over a two year span, although it hasn't always been consistant. On the other hand, the defense has suffered big, yet they will occasionally come with with big plays when they need to (Stopping the Bruins quickly on their last few drives at the end of the 4th are an example). So, to sum up the offense has been better under Weis, defense has been worse, but under Willingham no way does ND come back against UCLA or MSU this year. The team would have given up, no question. The opponents changing to conservative play sure helped, but ND wouldn't have stayed in the game in previous years.
Brady did look bad until the final drive, but the offensive line looked even worse. They offered no protection, and couldn't open holes for Walker. 20 carries for 43 yards is awful, for an offensive line that has 4/5 very experienced guys they should be dominating. The defensive line is the same story.
