The other thing was they are afraid to unleash it unless they have a very clear line for some reason, except for Rose who was a bit too amped on her shots. The Netherlands showed them the way to fire it in from the edge of the box and it was brilliant. Give yourselves a chance to score by getting shots on the goal. Make the keeper work and make mistakes. Though, I may be completely wrong.
it seemed to me the biggest problems were that everyone had no idea what the other players were going to do. Thats just chemistry I understand but it might be philosophy as well. If the lines have a solid idea of how each line is going to maneuver it's a better option for some of their passes that went into no mans land last night and the touch passes being on the same page.My favorite from last night was then showing Horan after that foul and the commentator was like “oh they’re teammates” right as the camera was on her saying “fucking bitch” in the most obvious lip reading possible She got a couple of more shots in too, which made me laugh when Dutch 10 kept whining for a card like she hadn’t done anything.
That said, the second half was much much better after the sub and especially after the foul. Morgan isn’t really a #9 though, she made some nice feeds (and blew a couple of crosses) but she just isn’t that much of a finisher. Won’t matter against 75% of the teams, but I wonder as they get further in the KO stage if scoring goals against physical defenses is going to be a limiting issue.
