U.S. Women's National Soccer (USWNT)

There's only basically 11 months until Paris 2024 and whatever the Women's gold cup is starts in Feb. (though they are already qualified for the Olympics) so they can't sit have a Barhalterian length search here.

And ultimately they took their happy assed time.

I haven't Read any of the reasoning but if they want to prioritize long term program success over the things right in front of us, fine but it might sting this summer

(Might anyway)

I didn't watch the mexico match but hopefully I still have paramount plus here in 90 minutes.

I did see they went 4-2-3-1, and who knows how they will go forward but I like that formation for the personnel I am familiar with. They still need a goal scorer that commands 2-4 sets of eyes. The Swanson injury wasn't helpful

More 4-2-3-1 against Japan, and the are you awake 1st minute goal conceded aside they're looking much better going forward than I have seen in a while. I just think they can control the midfield better with the two CMs and the 2 wingers, and let's them jump the attack off from the Japan side of the center circle. (Helps that mrs Swanson is one of the wingers)

Was reading the infusion of youth had finally got more energy and optimism in the team. Hoping they better utilize their speed going forward

This squad really needed Mal Swanson-Pugh, Catarina Macario (injuries) and Lavelle (suspension).

Something more dynamic than Morgan/Smith/Rodman just trying to run past the defense on long balls.

They finally looked good but still couldn’t a goal or result. The PKs not even testing the keeper 3 times is just brutal.
Pretty evident this year vs last. She’s playing great.

I want to add, before it falls apart tomorrow, that Trinity Rodman is kicking all sorts of ass as just a good two way player and doing all the work. She's sorta taken that Tobin Heath role (though stylistically not the same kind of player). Been really impressed with her playing both ways.
