U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

I think it is time Klinsman suggest that a few players move on. Bradley especially just keeps looking worse and worse, IMO. He did almost nothing positive las night, especially on the offensive end and completely botched the two late corners.

I don't know that I've seen 2 players look more awful than Brooks and Bradley last night, and I've seen a lot of awful

I think it's most disappointing that back in the day when we supposedly had "less talent", we would have fought and clawed all game. May have still ended 1-0 or 2-1, because we were pretty dramatically outplayed last night... but the quit that I saw was embarrassing.

I've always loved Michael Bradley... my favorite player/style of all time is Pirlo, and I remember in 2006-2008 watching him and thinking that he could be our Pirlo, controlling possession out of the back and spraying inch-perfect long-balls forward every now and then. Idk if I was always wrong, or if it's pure regression, but whatever the answer he doesn't deserve to be handed a starting spot on this team right now. And I don't think he could earn one.

I'm also a little put off and concerned with the extremely short tempers and just negative attitude a bunch of the players seem to have the last two matches. It suggests to me that there are other issues off the pitch with the team, which would not be good. It also just doesn't look good on the team either, to be shoving and yelling after pretty much every call.

I dunno. Playing against the teams that flop and flop and flop and pull and flop and stall and flop and dive and flop and cry and cheap shot and flop and dive and elbow and cry and cry and flop..........all in the first 5 fucking minutes? I hate the way these teams play. I hate that the refs are so stupid they continue to fall for it. I'd get frustrated as hell, too. I don't know how Jozy doesn't just punch people's heads right off their shoulders some times. You want something to dive on the ground and moan and flail about? Ok....here.

I don't blame him for everything obviously, but it wasn't working and he lost the team, which was evident during the CR game.

Arena led the best showing by a US team, but it's doubtful he will have any magic for this group. We just don't have the 24-28 year old players to compete...guys are either 18 or 36.

...and then bringing back Bernie Bierman in his place (if the rumors about Bruce Arena turn out to be true).

US Soccer will reportedly hire former coach Bruce Arena to replace Jürgen Klinsmann

On Monday, U.S. Soccer announced that Jürgen Klinsmann has been fired as head coach and technical director of the U.S. Men's National Team. Now speculation has turned to who will be the next coach and it sounds like it will be a familiar name.

According to Grant Wahl of Sports Illustrated, U.S. Soccer will re-hire former coach Bruce Arena, who coached the United States in both the 2002 and 2006 World Cups. Arena is currently the coach of the Los Angeles Galaxy in Major League Soccer.
