U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

So basically they have decided it's time for Russia to host every major sporting event within a 10 year period...OK...

An Qatar? WTF? How does that work? How will they handle the volume of people and stadiums they will need? I just can't see how that bid won anything...who next time? Suriname? Andorra?

Honestly, I would say China is out for World Cup 2026, since that would be three World Cups in a row in the Asian region.

But really, who knows with FIFA and corruption. China has more money than God.

China went from backing the U.S. for 2022 to being direct competitors for 2026.

Just thinking w/ crazy English supporters, Andrei Arshavin may want to stay clear of any public places (bars/clubs) for a bit.

As Bob Ley said, we've got 12 years to figure out if it's pronounced 'KUTT-er' or 'Kuh-TARR'.

Ohio World Cup (Just Ohio)

We can do it.

Qatar did it (regardless of oil money, bribery and politics):

Ohio vs. Qatar

Area:
Ohio: 44,825 sq mi
Qatar: 4,416 sq mi

Population:
Ohio: 11,542,645 (2009)
Columbus: 1,773,120 (Metro - 2008)
Qatar: 1,696,563 (2010)

Already, there's more hotel rooms in Ohio than the entire country of Qatar.

I guess at least the U.S. got to the final vote, if you want to "Pollyanna" everything. Although, it may make some more irate.

These have to be 4 of the ugliest stadiums I have ever seen... the last one is dope, the others are a joke. F them and their water taxis arriving cocunut shell sumbrero looking stadiums.

It is a punishable offence to drink alcohol or be drunk in public. Offenders may incur a prison sentence or deportation. Alcohol is, however, available at licensed hotel restaurants and bars, and expatriates living in Qatar can obtain alcohol on a permit system. You should not carry alcohol with you, including in your car (except to take it on the day of collection from the warehouse to your home).
