U.S. Men's National Soccer (Official Thread)

Pretty good +/- for Bornstein.
By the way, Dempsey is a headcase.

He's the most skilled players on the team. He has size and when he plays with grit, he can have games like the Confederations Cup where he was rated as the 3rd best player in the tournament.

Then, he has games like today where he looks a step slow and just out of it.

But then he always pulls something brilliant out in the end.

Over 55k...this sport has come a long way.

Yeah, but I think some fans are like me. I get into our national team but barely notice MLS.

Still, it has definitely grown here in my lifetime. The generation after me grew up playing the game.

USA wins, 2-1

Overall, a quality result against a good team. Definitely need to be more consistent for 90 minutes in RSA, though.

Definitely. Good result, love getting the win in front of home fans before heading to RSA.

A lot of things to think about for Coach Bradley. Guys like Jose Fransisco Torres and Holden have played like starters, but where do you put Holden and I can't see leaving Mo Edu on the bench. Next weeks game against Australia will be interesting. Final tune-up for what will likely resemble our starting squad...whatever that may be.

Just keep Bornstein off the field.

Send off game with 55k, live announcement of the World Cup team on national tv, it really has come a long way. Even Harkes commented on how they were lucky to get 6,000 IF they even had a send off game back when he played.

Nice start to the final tune up versus the Socceroos with Buddle drilling home a shot early. Findley managed to miss an open net from inside the box that wouldv'e made it 2-0...the Aussies tied the game moments later. Altidore sitting this one out with a mild ankle sprain suffered Wednesday. Onyewu did not start but may see minutes.

Love the high school field they're playing on today.

2-1 USA at the break.

Pretty physical game considering how close it is to the Cup. Dempsey and some dude named Moore almost came to blows.

Buddle and Altidore up front could be HUGE for the US to go far in the Cup if Buddle can keep playing like he is

After watching Findley miss an open net on a day when Buddle has two nice tallies I'd like that combo.

EDIT: And now Findley puts one off the bar from close range. :shake:
