2025 TX WR Dakorien Moore (Oregon Signee)

NCBuckeye might have nailed it. Gotta believe Day & Co looked over the position groups and the NIL availability, and meted out the dollars to be spent. Certainly the WR room is stacked and stocked with talent. Why pay for a 5* to ride the pine for a couple of years. While good, Moore isn't in the same league as some of the players, much less so due to lack of collegiate training. Last year, tOSU's WR room got thinned out (by 3-4?) darn good players, because lack of minutes. Or so I figure. The needs of other position groups appear larger, and looking at the recruits that have verbaled, being filled. DL, LB, DB are three. OL, well, if Sanders signs up, it'll be a good class. Reminds me of chess, except appears that we're playing with/against ourselves, to develop a cadre of recruits to be ready when this stacked class graduates/moves on after the 2024 season. Succession planning is good, and developing players in your ways and methods is probably preferable to playing the portal game. (Deion might argue against, or Meatchicken). Time and change will surely show.....Go Bucks!

We might have been in a spot where we did need more NIL for OL/DL, so we lost some bidding wars to WRs like Moore. I'll be honest in saying that never crossed my mind initially, but it makes sense now. If that is the case, then kudos to the staff because we are stacked with talent at WR and need the big men up front way more right now.

In the case of Moore, Oregon is a fine choice and I wish him well there other than when we play them. This sidenote may evolve into a general recruiting subject - but Oregon is putting together a really good class. With their move to the B1G, there is reason to look out for them, especially after losing Brew and Davison to them (now Moore, though he was likely never coming here anyways).
