2026 TX RB Legend Bey (Tennessee Soft Verbal)

Legend Bey puts OSU in top 5

A quarterback in the 2026 class with an Ohio State offer has narrowed his recruitment down to five schools. Texas prospect Legend Bey released a top five this week consisting of OSU, Duke, West Virginia, Tennessee, and Texas A&M.

Bey is a three-star player considered the No. 429 player overall in the current cycle per the 247Sports composite. At this point, Texas A&M appears to be the clear frontrunner in this recruitment and frankly, it almost sort of feels like the Buckeyes are a hat on a table here at this point unless an official visit gets scheduled in the near future.

Just sayin': It appears that aTm does have 2 Crystal Balls.

Also no confirmation yet on who the RB is that is visiting this weekend who is committed elsewhere. But I’m guessing it’s TN commit Legend Bey, who Lock just visited last week. Maybe Lock is selling him on being his next Bucky Irving - similar size guy who he developed at Oregon.

I did hear from Birm that it's a different type of back from the Wisky commit, so that would check out.

Ohio State in a great position to flip Jay Timmons and Legend Bey…
Timmons:

Bey:
I love Ohio State,” Bey stated. “This place is a winning culture and you feel it in this environment! The fans are amazing, the coaches are second to none! They are showing me a lot of love here.
“I am excited to be here!”
The Buckeyes will definitely be one to watch with the four-star Bey moving forward.

“I actually have been establishing relationships longer with Ohio State coaches,” Bey said comparing them to Tennessee. “They have been communicating with me, keeping in touch with me for three-plus years.”

Interesting comment from Legend Bey to Spiegelman:
“They have an amazing plan for me and wants me to play as a freshman! Coach Day is so amazing and he said I can play with them in playoffs, if I do end up committing to their program since I’m a early graduate!”

Maybe as a KR/PR? He is an electric playmaker.

One benefit of the playoffs and playing longer into the playoffs, is the extra practice your current players and incoming recruits get. I mentioned this last year and it’ll be another big benefit this year as well.

That must be what he’s talking about because incoming class can’t participate in bowl games that season.

Just a thought, ignore as needed. If a HS recruit enrolls early, can they join the post-season practices for their chosen team? Everyone speaks about how the early enrollees gain a leg up on the June folk, so extrapolating that to the play-off season, would the reps here count? Gotta believe that a still-in-HS kid, practicing with guys that have been working together since June might be very daunting. But hey, it's experience, no? Anyway, moving the dial from spring ball, back to January. Go Bucks!

Think they can practice but not play.....
