Such a contrast with another recruitment we’re all watching.

If this kid makes it to 43210, it seems to be his sincere wish and I hope he’s rewarded for it. To actively work the way he has to try to get to tOSU — clearly against the wishes of his mom — his desire to be a Buckeye is on another level.

If all true, I hope he makes it here. That’s the kind of desire to be a Buckeye I hope for everyone on that team. Candidly, it’s difficult for me to fathom someone who didn’t grow up in the heart of it all to understand. That’s significant and something that, I would guess, would be not taken for granted.

Whatever happens here, I hope for his best. I can’t imagine being in his cleats right now.

It seems to me Tennessee did what SEC schools have been doing for decades by dropping bags on family members in addition to players. It seems clear the mother received something of value from Tennessee to deliver her son there. What is abnormal in this situation is the internal strife within the family which makes that illegal extra benefit arrangement so obvious.
