2026 TX RB Legend Bey (Tennessee Signee)

I think Ohio State should deliberately work with players to get Tennessee to give them a stupid amount of money.

Win for the player and slow death for Tennessee as they slowly bleed themselves out with ridiculous NIL obligations. It’s not like Tennessee means that much to Ohio State directly, but they seem to be one of the easiest marks to pull it off with.

Well…

(Why can’t I embed pictures?)

Tennessee pulling out SEC throwback recruiting and tossing bags at the parents, too (just like the Sanders Jr. recruitment).
I've heard this coping mechanism way too many times on signing days of yore. It always has the kid wanting so badly to be a Buckeye, but the big mean parents won't allow it. Oh if only the mean parents would just let the kid choose for him, he'd definitely be a Buckeye in the end.

Four-Star Athlete Legend Bey Flips Back to Tennessee From Ohio State

247Sports reported earlier on Wednesday that there was immense pressure from Bey's family to sign with Tennessee. Per the report, his mother wouldn't sign off on the commitment, and Ohio State would have waited until his 18th birthday arrived in three weeks to accept the signing through compliance. Bey held a signing ceremony Wednesday morning at his high school, North Forney, wearing a bunch of Ohio State gear.

Just sayin': Why would the mother of a player from Texas want her son to got to Tennessee in lieu of Ohio State? Could it be because of the amount of NIL money Tennessee offered was more than what Ohio State had offered?

I disapprove.

Ready didn’t see this coming. Tennessee? He had to be well aware he’s not going to get a NC there. But I guess in the NIL era that’s not something that matters much. Sad.

JBook reporting that it was a family pressure situation.

See that one commit in the SEC thatg year where his mom was pissed. Though he was either 18 or the dad signed
Yeah, I don't remember the specifics but years ago at an all-star game a kid announced for either LSU or Bama and the mom was visibly upset because she wanted him to pick the other school. I don't remember how it turned out, but parents strong arming their kid into going to the school they want is nothing new. Not saying that's what happened here because as of now it's an unverified rumor, but I won't immediately dismiss it as "cope" either.
