2026 TX RB Legend Bey is a Buckeye!!!

Just a thought, ignore as needed. If a HS recruit enrolls early, can they join the post-season practices for their chosen team? Everyone speaks about how the early enrollees gain a leg up on the June folk, so extrapolating that to the play-off season, would the reps here count? Gotta believe that a still-in-HS kid, practicing with guys that have been working together since June might be very daunting. But hey, it's experience, no? Anyway, moving the dial from spring ball, back to January. Go Bucks!

They can practice and travel with the team for bowl games too

The TX boards seem pretty confident. Say they are Bey’s dream offer and the one he was waiting on. Birm thinks it’s a little too late.

We shall see…

Speed. You can't teach it. Ohio State just added a lot of it.
The Buckeyes have flipped four-star athlete Legend Bey from Tennessee, an explosive athlete with a 4.33-second time in the 40-yard dash. He's listed as a quarterback, but Ohio State plans to use him as a versatile offensive weapon who can line up in the backfield and slot receiver and return punts.

Ohio State was a major player in Bey's original recruitment, finishing as one of five finalists alongside the Volunteers, Duke, Texas A&M and West Virginia after extending him an offer in January. Texas A&M was considered the leader for his services for a long time, but Tennessee picked up steam and landed his commitment on June 28, planning to use him as a wide receiver.

The Bey File

  • Class: 2026
  • Size: 5-11/175
  • Pos: ATH
  • School: North Forney (Forney, Texas)
  • Composite Rating: ★★★★
  • Composite Rank: #361 (#24 ATH)
But the Buckeyes know how to score victories over Tennessee, throttling them 42-17 in the first round of last year's College Football Playoff. Ryan Day, primary recruiter Carlos Locklyn and Brian Hartline stayed in his ear and brought him on campus for an official visit during Ohio State's 38-14 win over Penn State on Nov. 1. By all accounts, it was a home run.
Now the Buckeyes have rounded the bases and brought Bey into their dugout for the future. He might be ranked No. 361 overall and No. 24 at athlete in the 247Sports composite, but he's one of the most gifted athletes in his class.
Bey underwent Sparq testing for QB Hit List and posted an incredible score of 96.58. Alongside his blazing 4.33-second 40-yard dash time, he posted a vertical leap of 38 inches and a broad jump of 11 feet, one inch. Those results would have placed him No. 3, No. 10 and No. 2 among wide receivers at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine.
Bey rushed for 1,912 yards and 28 touchdowns at a clip of 11.7 yards per carry playing quarterback for Forney, Texas' North Forney High School as a junior in 2024, completing 50% of his passes for 1,444 yards and 13 touchdowns with eight interceptions. He proved more efficient in his nine-game senior season, averaging 12.7 yards per rushing attempt with 1,356 yards and 23 touchdowns while completing 50.7% of his passes for 1,138 yards, 14 touchdowns and two picks.

Three-star Luke Fahey fills the quarterback position for Ohio State's 2025 recruiting class. If Bey is used as a running back at the next level, he becomes the Buckeyes' second running back commit alongside four-star Favour Akih. If he plays receiver, it will ultimately be a six-man haul for Hartline as Bey would join five-star Chris Henry Jr.; four-stars Kayden Dixon-Wyatt, Jerquaden Guilford and Jaeden Ricketts; and three-star Brock Boyd. Perhaps Bey plays both.
Bey becomes the fourth player in five days to commit to Ohio State’s 2026 recruiting class, joining cornerback Jay Timmons, offensive lineman Mason Wilhelm and defensive tackle Emanuel Ruffin.
