Two Years for Throwing a Cup of Ice

That to me is the equivalent of throwing a half-empty cup at somebody on the sidewalk, which sounds like littering at worst.

The last time I checked, littering involves throwing trash on the ground, not at another human being. If this woman is that angry at the world that it takes a traffic dispute for her to lose control, she deserves two years. Society shouldn't have to put up with her inability to control herself.

It's assault and she deserves to be punished. But two years is absurd. Kudos to the judge for using common sense.

Yeah, and I'd bet you'd characterize what she did to you as "littering at worst" too, right? :roll1:

For throwing a paper cup with some ice in it? For your information, I'm an adult, and this is just some grade-school shit. I'd shoot the bitch and move on.

lets get real now.a repeated child molester can be free to look up porn in a public library but a woman who decided to make an idiot driver "chill out" gets 2 years?if law enforcement would spend as much time chasing the homicidal maniacs.....she was traveling with a pregnant woman and 3 kids....give the woman a break

All the more reason that she shouldn't have been putting her kids at risk by swerving in and out of lanes while simultaneously setting a horrible example, IMO.

Read the article. She wasn't "swerving" in and out of lanes. When she threw the cup of ice, they both were stopped. Now, did she commit a form of simple assault. Yes. Did anyone get hurt? No. Did she deserve two years in prison and to be branded a felon for life? Hell no.

If I were the judge, I'd suspend her license for a week, fine her a couple hundred dollars, and put her on probation for a few years. I'd also take action against the other dipshit who was making all the lane changes and "hand gestures".

Stalled when the cup was thrown.

The reading is ambiguous, but I get the impression that traffic was already stalled. Abrupt lane changes can happen in stalled traffic, as well. I think people are reading in "swerving in and out of lanes" unless they are going off of a different article.
