When it comes to having the "supposed" best recruits on the roster ... they have. They're tied with Texas and FSU ... following LSU, USC, Georgia, Ohio State, and Alabama.
No one with under 20 Top 100 recruits has done what Clemson has, it's impressive. Obviously it doesn't guarantee future success, but it's a good barometer that they are identifying and developing talent at a high level.
incase you didnt get the joke... he was implying they are using steroids to "overachieve".

Yeah ... that definitely went over my head. lol
Thanks

I hear ESPN would make a documentary about the subject but their too busy sweeping needles and stacks of LSU cash under the rug. But hey, on a positive note ... I hear Pryor is almost done serving his NFL suspension.

Take away Hunter/Deshaun, both of which were legendary QB recruits (Hunter might be the best pro style talent in the recruiting era), and they get dominated by Bama. Have them and you humiliate a once proud bama defensive program.

Also, let me know how they do on the DL if you take away Lawrence, Wilkins, Thomas and Ferrell (only 1 of which is not a 5-star). We won't find out for while, because they just keep stockpiling monsters (Bresee).

I'm not sure the point being made. Obviously if you take away their talent, they are no longer as talented.

My point is that Clemson has done well with the 5* and high 4* guys they've recruited, which is less than other programs have accumulated in the same span.
And now that they are pulling in MORE guys, you would tend to think their success will continue.

I see them as the team to beat now ... not Bama. That's impressive IMHO.

Did anyone notice when Michigan started sponsoring some of their coaching positions?

J. IRA AND NICKI HARRIS FAMILY HEAD FOOTBALL COACH

LESTER FAMILY DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR

SANFORD ROBERTSON OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR

Apparently 2014, for $10mil.
... definitely one of those "RichRod isn't a Michigan Man" guys.

I like this part too:
"We are incredibly appreciative of the generosity of Ira and Nicki," said Dave Brandon, the Donald R. Shepherd Director of Athletics.

A longer article with lots of quotes from Dave Brandon, aka Donald R. Shepherd. I do have to wonder... who would want to associate their name with Hoke or Brandon ?

I think all he's saying is that their development of lower ranked talent hasn't mattered nearly as much as the handful of generational QBs, WRs, and DL that they've recruited. Those guys need coaching obviously, but all of them were as good or better prospects than any other college program has had.

Depth wise they had less, but most programs would trade for a QB who puts up 4000/1000 and another that will soon eclipse Andrew Luck as the top QB prospect ever.
