I will hate on all things tsun but can someone explain to me why this is such a great hire? He's never called plays and got passed up by the QB coach at Alabama. He recruited well? No shit, everyone for the past 10 years has recruited well at Alabama.
Remember who you're dealing with. DFBIA's analysis goes only this deep...

What? He coached at Alabama? He must be awesome!!! Championships await!!

You have to remember, these idiots don't understand anything other than entitlement. They think there's a magic potion, or a magic coach, who makes everything OK. They don't understand the first thing about hard work. They don't realize this guy is going to be sitting there one day thinking to himself "What the fuck? How in the hell am I supposed to do my job when this fuckin crack pot is driving a car through the practice facility making an instagram video?"

This guy comes from a program run by Nick Saban. He's used to working for a living, being under constant scrutiny, having to do better today than yesterday, and all the other stuff that comes with a top tier program. He's walking into a clown show. He's going to be frustrated almost immediately... and then, he'll realize it's tough to run Bama's offense with a bunch of TEs and FBs.... and then... he'll end up having the Harbrau override his play calling to run some 1980s bullshit in a pinch. But, he'll be well paid.

Gattis is in for a huge shell shock not having a damn near NFL caliber offense in terms of play calling.

It's always interesting to see how Bama assistants do when they, well, arent at Bama with their gagillion 5 stars at every position anymore

Wait? Are you saying Tua > Patterson????

Damien Harris/Najee Harris/Josh Jacobs > Karon Higdon???

Seriously?

Over / under on making it through spring ball? LOL.

There's some good talent up there. It's, obvi, no where near as deep as it is at Bama... but yeah, I'm guessing he face-palms more in the next 12-months than he has collectively in his entire career to this point.
