With what, a 50 cal

A shot on goal with what, a 50 cal?

Pretty damn close. Not sure if you’ve ever seen a lacrosse ball, but it’s basically the same size and weight as a baseball. Hard rubber like a Kong dog toy. BTW... lacrosse balls are great dog balls.

Shot speed varies pretty significantly by player. Top speed of some of the pros is in the 110+ mph range. 119 is world record with a 6ft pole. 116 with the short stick. I’ve thrown with this guy a few years ago, shortly after he set this record. Good dude.

My son, a senior in HS, spins it in the mid 90s in a step down and he’s on the high side of average on his club team. So, you got to figure that helmet was hit probably mid to high 90s. Regardless, even in the low 60s, that’d mess up your trachea pretty good.

Soapbox: At least the guys get helmets and a face mask that drops below the chin for some protection. The girls run around without anything more than some eye protection that basically looks like a cage around their eyes. With the stick technology that the girls have today, they too can get the ball moving pretty good. I’ve clocked myself with a woman’s stick and easily hit 70s... they are much harder to throw with... my regular stick I’m still throwing high 80s as an old man. Anyhow, I know of a few girls who took an errant shot off the side of the head. That shit could be fatal. They really need more protection.

Have we ever considered having a BP TSUN Hall of Fame?

The inaugural inductees are obvious...Saint Bill Martin and the Resplendent Dave Brandon.

We could vote in new members every year on the anniversary of the Appy State game. Nominations could be made a few weeks beforehand, then debates on candidates, followed by the induction vote on September 1st.

The inaugural class has to be at least five members, just to get started. Mike the Bike, “We never go 9-3,” “Little Brother” Hart, Morgan slappy_emoji Trent, and Rich “You raise me up” Rodriguez are lead pipe locks for me.

Taylor “All I’ve ever known at Michigan is failure” Lewan and Jason “Right now, we suck” Avant would also be candidates.

I got $5 on a multiple likes function for this board. Anybody with me? This post is worthy of at least 35.

[edit] (unlike Mcpornstache) not my post but the two quoted above.

All good, I grant you, but nothing touches my heart quite the way the first time I read “truck stop Fabio.”

McHoppy
Chad ‘Bitch’ Henne
Kyle Kalis (AKA: Turnstiles, Dancing Queen, Blood on the Field)
Mike Lantry who went out a double loser in ‘73 to come back in ‘74 and fail, yet again, on his last collegiate play
Drew Henson

And crying guy after the botched punt against Sparty in ‘17(?).

The Hall should be located in the heart of Wolverine Land: on Piquette Ave in Detroit.

It was bustling in the Roarin' '20's. And while he's probably not a first ballot guy, I think Shavodrick Beaver deserves a place in The Hall.
