Do you honesty think the number 61 ATH and 753rd overall recruit isn't going to turn out to be an unstoppable force?
Just so we're all on the same page here, in 2007 Eric Berry was the #1 cornerback and #3 overall prospect according to 247 Composite.
"Thicc" Curtis Samuel, per the ministry of excuses.
And in 2014, "thinn" Curtis Samuel was the #7 athlete and #56 overall prospect according to 247 Composite.

I'd break down their class this way

Offense is clearly their biggest need.....almost any position on offense really.

Their top rated offensive player is from the 1 position they probably dont really need....Tight End (168 national 6 TE)

OL is a mess.....they bring in 2 OL in this class. 268 National 16 OT and 335 National 23 OT

Skill position wise the best they bring in is 508 national 22 RB to go along with a few other fairly no named RB/WR/ATH types rated from the 600s-NR.

They can say "well maybe it's just an off year" all they want......this total whiff on offense puts them back at least a few years. Even if they manage to hit a HR in next years recruiting.

You can't have a single bad recruiting year if you fancy yourself a top tier program.

It becomes a hole in the roster for the next 3-4 years you have to recruit over with a young guy(s) (if you can).

I wouldn't be shocked if a good chunk of this class ends up not finishing their college careers with scUM

You know Harbaugh is going to recruit over the bottom guys as much as possible. They've got 11 guys rated 500th+ nationally. They needed to get someone to fill out the roster, but those guys, unless they come in and light the world on fire, are going to be replaced on a drop of a dime if the opportunity allows. (which in turn will create further depth issues)

Like I said yesterday, try to imagine an Urban Meyer recruiting class ranked #19 in the country, without a single top-100 player and having whiffed on every major/top-rated prospect. I can't do it.

With their 37th rated class in 2015, they've had two misses in 4 years. While they did have much better classes in 16 and 17, it should be remembered they signed 30 kids last year to get that higher rating.... still trailing Ohio State's 21 member '17 class by 16 total points

makes depth an issue and reloading a pipe dream
Well, in a normal world, yes..... but.. did you see that Barrett kid? Looks like a thicc Curtis Samuel or maybe an Eric Berry.

And.. let's not forget, that basketball poached WR would have been rated higher if he had been rated as a football player... or something....

Oh.. and... number one recruit in ALL of Germany! Let me say that again, in ALL of Germany, they got the number one guy. And someone here asked if the trip to Europe was worth it? I think you have your answer, sir.

Seems like a good time to pay homage to the man that sent these shit-weasels into the ditch where they belong...
