Michigan hopes to keep Otis Reese, land 5-star OT Nicholas Petit-Frere

 NPF

I love how the article is setting it up to be Florida or ND if not scUM, with OSU barely mentioned. What a gut punch to scUM fans tomorrow if the vibe today is true and he ends up at OSU.

The other big name still left on Michigan's board is more of a mystery. Five-star offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere hasn't let much slip about where he's leaning, or if he's leaning at all.

He made his official visit to U-M in November and got an in-home visit from Harbaugh and offensive coordinator Tim Drevno last week. The Tampa native also had the opportunity to watch the Wolverines practice up close as they prepped at his high school (Berkeley Prep) before the Outback Bowl.

247sports recruiting analyst Steve Wiltfong reported late last week that Florida and Notre Dame had pushed in front for Petit-Frere's services. He also took his official to Ohio State this past weekend.

He'll announce at 10 a.m. Wednesday on ESPNU.

5:45 in....."Michigan still has a shot" coming from "well placed sourvces" in tampa
That's not true, Michigan has always been in his finalists. You're either reading selectively as a self-hating Michigan fan (the largest portion of the fan base) or you're reading from people who are speaking out of their ass.

Sam's looking for clicks.
I mean what idiot would want to go to a craphole school where you dont have to go to classes, get free cars, tatoos and all the women you can handle for a couple of years and then get drafted into the NFL where you'll make millions cause you got drafted in one of the top two rounds.

It's a fucking marvel they get anybody to play there really.
You forgot the part about how they win games that actually matter too.
It feels like we could recruit a kid for years and OSU calls him the Saturday before he signs and flips him. wtf
The staff is not good at recruiting. If we dont get better, we aint beating Ohio State. Maybe Harbaugh shouldnt be sitting courtside with Beilein the week we need to secure some recruits.

There's plenty more, but you get the idea.

“This class is good. It wasn’t as good as the year before, but it’s good enough to keep them in the [Big Ten East] race.”

— Recruiting analyst Tom Lemming on Michigan’s 2018 recruiting haul

when you have to go to Tom Lemming to find the "expert" who says it isn't that bad....it's pretty damn bad

This is the 247 composite national rankings of their current commits...
87, 112, 118, 168, 170, 204, 268, 334, 381, 508, 561, 593, 626, 647, 700, 751, 797, 975, NA, NA

#87 is a very soft commit, and they're PRAYING they can keep him from UGA.

If that's a "good" class for them, woof...
