Can’t wait for the Sam Webb spin zone on this if Friday does end up at OSU.

Couldn't blame him. I wouldn't want to play for a mid tier BIG team either if I had offers from every school.

Otis Reese and J. Patterson will soon choose other schools as well. But hey, we will get our 7th 3* CB! He's 6'2!

Thought they didn't have room for him?

Surely there is an unhrralded DT recruit in the middle of South Dakota that had great upside!

Perhaps there’s one they have in mind from the euro pipeline. Perhaps they can flip a water polo recruit heading to coastal Carolina. When you can’t beat anybody for the recruits everybody wants go get the guys nobody knows about.

Any fan that’s been following Michigan recently should not be surprised by this. We cannot have nice things.

Remember when the insiders were "confident" we would land 2/3 of our DT targets.

Whelp.

Bye Friday. Bye Sandidge. Bye M Thompson (even though we stopped recruiting for whatever reason).

There is no excuses for this. OSU's plan C and clearly our Plan A for 2 years, still lose out.

TMI thread about impending decision
The crystal ball "rush" right before someone decides is rarely wrong. I know Sam was semi-confident, but he wasn't gut feel confident.
He was”gut feel” confident that our coach’s were very confident.
We are up to 4 crystal balls. And there have been several recruitments recently where Sam said the confidence was high in AA. That's been the kiss of death recently.
If true what an embarrassment for this staff. He was way down the list for OSU. They missed on other SDE and then decide to recruit Friday for that spot for a couple months and take him after Michigan a guess worked him for two years as the top guy.
It suggests that they will have completely botched DT recruiting in this cycle (and that's on top of botching OT recruiting) if he ends up signing with OSU.

Let's just hope that he picks Michigan.
If Ohio State does pull that off, that is one hell of a D Line haul for them. They would be set for the foreseeable future, especially in the interior. Larry Johnson has always been a great recruiter. Don't really know who to pinpoint here, as Mattison is typically a great recruiter. Some of those New Jersey coaches can't stand CP either. Hopefully Michigan learns how hard they need to be on the recruiting trail. Ohio State has a competition about everything, including recruiting. If we ever want to get over the hump, we must win more of these battles.
The new car smell has faded. We're not winning significant games by year 3, which usually means that the recruiting starts to slide. Seen it with previous staffs.
Don Bosco kids never seem to pick Michigan.
As good of a recruiter as Partridge is, that is one downside to having him. DB coaches can't stand him.
My question is, when will we begin to reap the recruiting rewards from last years NFL Draft (which we heard quite a bit about)? Maybe it'll happen shortly after we begin to reap the recruiting rewards that come after the B-Ball's 2013 run in the Final Four.

Remember what Sam said, people’s picks are predicated on who people are talking to. The osu people are confident after talking to and having contact with coaches. The Michigan side is confident because they are talking to The family. Now maybe Sam will have a different opinion today but until he does the staffs confidence is due to direct contact with the family
and 6 minutes later:
SW with the osu cb.... Whelp. There goes the neighborhood.
The staff was very confident that they would get Najee, Wilson, and a lot more high profile recruits. Many of them are playing for other schools at this time.
Isaiah Hole said:
I’ve flipped my Crystal Ball to Ohio State.
I can second that the coaches were very confident in landing him, per my sources.
Isaiah is on staff at the 24/7 UM site.
We are a 8-5 team who gave away a bowl game osu is a perennial championship team

We are a team who cant get to indy osu is a team that uses indy as a stepping stone

We are a program now that to be honest isnt at osu level

Nor are we a program that pumps nfl talent every single season...

Until and IF we get there this is about expected as we can get
So is Sam doing a 3 part series about what happened at the end of the recruitment?

When was the date that they became self aware?
The cracks started showing after they were blown out of the water by the pedtards; following the collapse against tOSU, the floodgates opened. There are still a few diehard "Harbro's", but the general atmosphere amongst their fanbase is a lot of fear that they just cannot, and will not ever really be elite. It's fucking beautiful.

Meh... nothing a team trip to Paris for spring practice can't solve.

It's looking more and more like they will finish without a single top 100 recruit

Lose out on Friday and Otis Reese's flip to UGA seems to be just a matter of time

Not sure if they have any realistic chances at anyone else at this point?

Their top rated recruit right now is a TIGHT END......who would be the 14th highest rated player in Ohio State's class

(this all using the 247 composite)

The talent gap is STILL widening.
