That looks like the JFK killshot. All that’s missing is Jackie crawling on her knees picking up chunks of watermelon.

The only surprising thing about this post is that it wasn't @Jaxbuck posting it. :slappy:

I know, right? Had to double check, twice.

Give me some credit. I wouldn't make fun of something that serious.

Unless Mrs Harbaugh should come home and find Jimmah trussed up like David Carradine.

Then I could not be held responsible for my posting.

The rationalization/excuse mongering for the continued influx of 3* kids, and little else, chugs on at the Ministry of Excuses...

Of course, scUM loses the three-star recruit argument to Ohio State, and loses it badly.

Just look at that pathetic list of bums: Karan Higdon, Roy Roundtree, B.J Askew, Sean McKeon, Jay Riemersma, Channing Stribling....

I used Rivals to determine who counts as a three-star recruit, because they've been continuously ranking recruits since 2002 and they (along with the now-defunct Scout) ushered in the era of online recruiting sites and monetized the recruiting industry. Recruiting rankings prior to 2002 are incomplete and/or inaccurate and/or not methodical, and they should be discounted.

Since 2002, only two scUM three-star recruits made an All American team: Braylon Edwards (2004) and Dave Molk (2011). Edwards was a true college star (but an NFL bum) who won the Biletnikoff Award and was Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year (both 2004), while Molk also won the 2011 Rimington Award. Edwards was the only NFL first round draft choice of the scUM three-star recruits.

Now let's check out Ohio State's success with three-star recruits since 2002....

Ohio State has had fourteen All Americans: James Laurinaitis (2006, 2007, 2008); Malcolm Jenkins (2007, 2008); A.J. Hawk (2004, 2005); Kirk Barton (2007); Chimdi Chekwa (2010); Johnathan Hankins (2012); Bradley Roby (2012); Pat Elflein (2016); Malik Hooker (2016); and Denzel Ward (2017).

In addition, Laurinatis won the Nagurski Award (2006), the Butkus Award (2007), the Lott Award (2008), and was twice Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2007; 208); Hawk won the Lombardi Award and was Big Ten Defensive Player of the year (both 2005); Malcolm Jenkins won the Thorpe Award (2008); Pat Elflein won the Rimington Trophy (2016); and John Simon won the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year Award (2012).

Ohio State also had eight first round draft choices: A.J. Hawk (2006); Santonio Holmes (2006); Malcolm Jenkins (2009); Bradley Roby (2014); Darron Lee (2016); Malik Hooker (2017); Gareon Conley (2017); and Denzel Ward (2018).

To recap the three-star recruits since 2002:

All Americans: Ohio State 14, scUM 2
Major Award winners: Ohio State 6, scUM 2
Big Ten POY Awards: Ohio State 4, scUM 1
First round draft picks: Ohio State 8, scUM 1
Record on the field: Ohio State 14, scUM 2

Despite the above, recruiting rankings really DO matter ... but they matter a whole lot less when you go to Ohio State.

At one point they mention Obi Ezeh as an "honorable mention." I fell out of my seat in a fit of laughter.

Upon further reflection, Braylon Edwards was part of the recruiting class of 2001, which means he wasn't ranked by Rivals and doesn't even count in this discussion (recruits from 2002 to the present).

So, the revised final tallies are:

All Americans: Ohio State 14, scUM 1
Major Award winners: Ohio State 6, scUM 1
Big Ten POY Awards: Ohio State 4, scUM 0
First round draft picks: Ohio State 8, scUM 0
Record on the field: Ohio State 14, scUM 2

MGoBlow's list would be like us citing Jay Richardson, T.J. Downing, Austin Spitler, Dexter Larimore, Dane Sanzenbacher, Kenny Guiton, Reid Fragel, Darryl Baldwin, J.T. Moore, Evan Spencer, and Tracy Sprinkle as evidence of "three-star win!!!!!"
