Impressive:

A verified 6'5"/227, McKeon is an elite athlete for a player his size, holding the fastest verified 40-time of any tight end in the country at 4.65 and also the highest vertical jump (36.2 inches).

Yep, another day, another 2* recruit for HARBAUGH!!!! It's a good thing the dumbest fan base in college football has convinced itself that recruiting rankings mean nothing--otherwise, Ann Arbor might be concerned.
Frankly, I'm a bit concerned myself that when Ohio State evaluates and offers players from camp, most of the time they end up targeting highly ranked individuals with offers from college football royalty.

Clearly a genius like Harbaugh is revolutionizing the game of college football and Ohio State is being left in the dust by not focusing on unranked players from the south with offers from Air Force and Cornell.

They just landed their second unranked player of the day, for what it's worth. I'll update my list in the morning when I can get in front of a desktop.

I enjoy the spin that these kids are the top performers at their satellite camps. I'd love to see the list of attendees as im fairly certain the elite regional players aren't showing up at these things.

Guys, c'mon! You are being a little unfair don't ya-think? I mean, do you remember how delusional we were when we found out Urban Meyer was going to be the new HC of the Buckeyes? It's not like he has done much in his first three years or anything.
I'll add how wrong BP's collective wisdom was on both RR and Hoke. There's absolutely no reason to think we're right about hairball. it's just coming from fear and hate.

He plays twice in my backyard, there's a really good chance I'll pop in to watch.

Seems to me Jimmy is going after a lot of guys who are three years away. Should be fun to watch this play out.

There is a widespread perception among UM fans - supported by their mods - that Harbaugh was holding off on pushing for commitments until they had success on the field, in part because that's pretty common for coaches rebuilding their programs. Before the avalanche of commitments started rolling in to refute that odd perception, I provided some data points to show other coaches recruiting well during their honeymoon period, largely before they coached in their first game. I thought that data would be interesting here

Urban Meyer

Dec 2004 - hired by UF.
Feb 2005 - 10th ranked class. 2 ***** (his), 10 **** (9 were his)
Jan 2006 - 10-3 record.Feb 2006 - 2nd ranked class. 6 *****, 9 ****. Most 5* committed after the first season under Meyer.

Charlie Weis

Dec 2004 - hired by ND
Feb 2005 - 29th ranked class. 0 *****, 5 **** (3 were his)
Jan 2006 - 9-3 record.
Feb 2006 - 5th ranked class, 3 *****, 12 ****. He had one 5*, five 4* committed before his first game as a coach.

Jim Harbaugh

Jan 2007 - hired by STAN
Feb 2007 - 43rd ranked class. 0 *****, 3 **** (1 was his)
Jan 2008 - 4-8 record (w/ colossal USC upset).
Feb 2008 - 44th ranked class. 1 *****, 3 ****. Luck, DeCastro, Howell (4*) committed before the season, Reuland after.

Brady Hoke

Jan 2011 - hired by UM.
Feb 2011 - 29th ranked class, 0 *****, 4 **** (2 were his).
Jan 2012 - 11-2 record.
Feb 2012 - 4th ranked class, 1 *****, 14 ****. All but two 4* committed before he coached his first game, plus two 5* for 2013.

For the sake of comparison to Butch rather than to Harbaugh (as he was never considered a similar coach)

Derek Dooley

Jan 2010 - hired by UT.
Feb 2010 - 17th ranked class, 1 ***** (his), 7 **** (1 was his).
Jan 2011 - 6-7 record.
Feb 2011 - 10th ranked class, 0 *****, 9 ****. Most of their top kids committed after the season began.

Butch Jones

Dec 2012 - hired by UT.
Feb 2012 - 36th ranked class, 0 *****, 4 **** (3 were his, incl North, Dobbs).
Jan 2013 - 5-7 record.
Feb 2013 - 4th ranked class, 0 *****, 17 ****. About 50/50 in terms of committing before Butch coached his first game at UT.

Jim Harbaugh

Dec 2014 - hired by UM.
Feb 2015 - 35th ranked class, 0 *****, 7 **** (3 were his)
Jan 2016 - ??? record
Feb 2016 - ???

Class so far - 14 verbals, 0 *****, 6 ****, 6 ***, 3 **/NR

Jimbo Fisher had a lot of early success in recruiting, though he had been there for years as an assistant, so that's not a great example.

Same with Dabo Swinney.
