I think Mike and others would agree this was certainly was not the finish they were hoping for, despite the fact this was always going to be a small class for UM. Really no way to paint it any other way than that. Urban obviously had longer to hit the ground running but he still got the 2012 class (which in retrospect turned out to be a pretty poor class) into the consensus top 10 class by landing Kyle Dodson, Taylor Decker, Jamal Marcus, Armani Reeves, Cam Williams, Joey O'Connor, Noah Spence, Se'von Pittman, Tommy Schutt, Adolphus Washington and Ricquan Southward all after being hired...and held on to Bri'onte Dunn. Of course looking back, only Decker and Washington from that list of post-Meyer verbals (and to a lesser extent Reeves and Schutt) have lived up to their lofty rankings and/or contributed while at OSU (Spence did have one decent year before that whole mess unraveled). My point is there were a lot of guys in that first class who have already departed for whatever reason or are buried on the depth chart and have been recruited over. That is going to happen when you have a class assembled by two different staffs. You do the best you can to salvage what you can and set your sights on the following year.
The 2016 class will be a very important one for Harbaugh just like the 2013 one was for Meyer. I expect them to bounce back very well. Swenson and Harding are a good start all things considered.
